What should I look for in a gold pan, to go gold panning in Alaska?

While we MAY end up with a small sluice in a year or two, for right now we are going to be restricted to panning.
Our first goal is to get the family panning enough to scavange up enough to make me a ring.
Looking at gold pans I see many different types, and I was wondering which was best?
I see ones with DEEP ruffles cut 90 degrees, but these seem very large grooves to me, then there are some with just a small lip, and some are smooth.
Then there are the sizes, 10 inch, 12 inch, 14 inch...
and Colors... black, green, orange, pink...
Could use some info...

If I were to get watercolor paints as a gift, I would prefer a gift card so I could pick my own. A palette of paint colors is a personal choice and no one would know, unless they asked, which pigment choices I use. There are nearly 100 different W&N watercolors, with multiple primary choices.
If he knows you plan to get him the paints, ask which colors he needs. That would be better than getting paints he would not use.

lol all that work work for one flake? i dug with a shovel and got like a lot of fines and flakes for my first ever time out, time to get a dredge, gravity or sniping tool what the fuck ever, i found gold and my 1 flake of gold is lonely and hard to show off, im going back into the stream tomorrow hopefully, with a bad case of gold fever. =D
Actually your wrong. Reno NV which has a diversified economy is much more stable than Las Vegas. Especially right now with the economy the way it is. Further Elko with its gold mines is doing far better than Las Vegas right now do to the price of gold.
You are correct that Las Vegas does have the highest percentage of the jobs in NV but that cannot possibly be because it is has the majority of the population right.

Sportsman`s paradise the land of fishing, hunting,football,basketball,baseball,softball. You can fish offshore or inland- saltwater or freshwater rivers, bayous and lakes. I have 10 days of vacation left and I am going fishing 7 or 8 of those days this month the summers are in the 90`s but the winters are pretty mild way down in south Louisiana.
