  11. A fever is the body's natural response to infection. When a bacteria or virus enter your body, your body sees them as foreign invaders. Your body, being the miraculous machine that it is, knows that the bacteria and viruses cannot survive very well at high temperatures…. so, your body raises it's body temperature in an attempt to "fry" the bacteria. So, believe it or not, a fever is actually a good thing! It means that your body is doing it's job, and it's a very effective strategy to get rid of "bugs". So… in adults, a fever should not be treated unless it reaches 38.9 or above (that's 102 F) OR it's making the person uncomfortable. In other words, if their fever is only 38.4, but their miserable because they have chills and are sweating then go ahead and take something for it, but try to stick it out as much as you can. For infants the magic number is 38 (100.4) and you should give them something to relieve the fever and call the doc. For children (ages 2-12) 38.3 (101) is about the time you want to medicate them using acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin). Always follow the instructions on the label! Giving/taking more will not bring the fever down faster, it will only increase the workload of your liver and kidneys. Ibuprofen should not be given to infants under 6 months and never ever ever give aspirin to a child under 12 because it can cause something called Reye's syndrome which is life threatening.
Also, eating cool foods, such as a popsicles can help to alleviate some discomfort. A cool cloth on the forehead can do the same.
You can also take a room temperature bath.. NOT a cool bath. Cool baths will only make you have chills. A tepid bath has the same effects that a cool bath does. Anytime a fever is unresolved or accompanied by a stiff neck, lethargy, hallucinations or seizures immediate medical attention should be sought.

The saddles used for Fantasias are real masterpieces of traditional North-African craftsmanship. All parts are covered with rich decoration, in most cases embroidery. Often these embroideries are made of metal threads. You can even find rare antique saddles with embroidery made of real gold or silver threads !

Jimmy Carter’s Fight to Eradicate the Guinea Worm:
The UN had just failed in its efforts to eradicate malaria, yellow fever and the hookworm. The Guinea worm was also considered a hopeless case. But Carter recognized the worm as a potential project. At the time, the Guinea worm afflicted three-and-a-half million people in Asia and Africa every year. The plague was called the “disease of empty granaries,” because victims cannot walk and are therefore unable to bring in the harvest. “We knew that we might fail,” says Carter. “We were willing to risk failure if we believed it was worthwhile.”

You will get different colors at different temperatures, in heating as well as way metal is cooled afterwards, — This is a thing that you just have to know "what it looks like" as it is heated, — so get yourself some "sheetmetal" about the same thickness as what you want to work on and experiment! Old car fender or something will work (stay away from galvanized, as the burning coating is not real healthy to breathe)! You will find that the colors left after heating will even change somewhat if you heat a place near it later, – which (is what) seems to make colors sort of "flow" together!

  23. When my nephew was a baby he used to get fevers and keep them for days as well. If the doctor seems to think that he's okay and you are giving him fever reducers I wouldn't worry too much

Crying can sometimes raise temperatures, it isn't always just infections alone. if he gets any worse or it lasts for over 7 days take him back to the doctor. until then just give him cold pedialite and his favorite blankie! I'll pray for him hon!

  26. Yesterday we got our first look at Rooney Mara as the tough Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first installment of the popular Millennium Trilogy. Though there were only a couple pictures, and she didn’t seem to be in full costume, we got a pretty good idea of Mara’s transformation into the role. Now we have even more pictures that show the young actress in full wardrobe with more tattoos, piercings and a full-on mohawk. These photos are considerably more impressive than yesterday’s unveiling, and may change the minds of some naysayers who weren’t very pleased. Check out the new pictures below! Here are the new pictures courtesy of W magazine (click for slightly larger versions): Seeing Mara with even more of the wardrobe and signature hair-style of Lisbeth Salander, these pictures much better illustrate the complete transformation that this cute actress is making …

Yes actually there is. I was in South America in 2006, and although I did not have a visa fro Brazil, I bought a bike and rode over the border from Uruguay to a carne da salud and they gave me one for free! Just bring a brazilian or two with you and have your passport, I don't know if they do it everywhere but this was in Santana do livramento in the state Rio grande do sul. It was hassle free for me until I got caught afterwards by an immigration officer (the only problem was no visa though;) God Bless and good luck!
