I have had them for 4 years and they always bloom right on or just before Christmas.Hold off on watering them 2 weeks prior to bloom.This will encourage bloom.Make sure they get 5 or more hours of sunlight,too.

The birds get into the water immediately and start fishing. They always stay near the boat: when the it’s behind they litterally wait for it before they start diving again. I even saw one waiting for the owner to pick him up when he caught a fish. The guy missef first with his stick, but the bird stayed at the same place near the boat waiting to be picked up. And yes they take them then by the neck and throw them back, but believe me, you got now idea how strong those necks are!
