Modern ones do but when smoking was allowed in rooms the detectors were designed not to react to tobacco smoke.
To get the value out of gold, you have to buy gold bullion. And this is not guaranteed either.
If you buy 1 oz. at the price that is right now (over 735 US) you have to wait till it goes over 760 $ for profit.
It can also happen that you buy it for 735 $ and then it goes down under 700 $ or lower.
It is a very bullish market.
And you need to invest a lot to make something.
Gold from jewellery – you pay most on the craftmanship.
The bullion gold is 99.9999 purity, almost 24K versus jewellery gold which is 10K (the cheapest), 14K or 18K.
Dental gold is 22 K.

I'm not to sure about the actual detector but the difference beeeetween gold and metal is that gold actually isn't a metal unlike most things. This means is for the elements so I'm guessing that the metal detector u got might only detect non metal elements u can look these up on the periodic table if the elements or just search it. This is a bit of a science question I guess! HAve fun digging up gold!

Holiday #Deals! Sand-filtering Scoop for Use with Metal Detectors. by Gold Century 290% Sal… Lowest
What timings were you using? Thanks
It's good to know what each one means so you know how to use them:
1. heart of gold (noun phrase; use in place of a noun) "He has a heart of gold" means a person has great compassion and tenderness toward others
2. Paint the town red (verb phrase: use in place of a verb and predicate) "They painted the town red" means people caroused, going from place to place. These days that means partying and bar-hopping.
3. Cold feet (noun phrase) getting cold feet means getting scared at the outcome of a promise. Most often used with the promise of marriage: "He was engaged to his fiancée, but before the wedding he got cold feet and left her standing at the altar." (standing at the altar–she was at the church to be married but he was not)
4. Sweet tooth–(noun phrase) means a penchant for eating sweets. "She had a sweet tooth and could often be seen eating bonbons."
5. White elephant (noun phrase) This means a very rare item. A "White Elephant Sale" often means a clearance sale, because you won't be able to find these items anymore once they are sold out.
6.Back to square one (adverbial phrase; use to answer the question "where?") When you are back to square one, it seems like everything you did only ended you up where you started. This is similar to the phrase "Going in circles" in which you are "back to square one" several times.
7. Have one's nose in the air [not ears] (verb phrase) "She has her nose in the air" can be quite literal. It means that she is not looking toward the person who called for her attention but is pointedly moving forward and tilting her head up slightly to show that she is ignoring or snubbing that person.
8 Finders, keepers [losers, weepers] (whole sentence) This is a funny one. It has a subject, a predicate noun, and an understood verb. Same with "Losers, weepers" which is the other half of rhyme. These mean that the person who found an object is the one who is entitled to keep it. The one who lost the item, however, will weep or cry over the loss. It is often used to justify actions that are not just.
9. eyes pop out (object of the preposition "till"). It means that someone is exerting a whole lot of energy or will to achieve an end. Often in a violent way. "He held his breath till his eyes popped out." I don't have a very good sentence for that.
10.Have ones hands full (verb phrase) "I've got my hands full" means I have so many things to do that I don't have any time or resources to do anything else, as if I have my hands full with obligations.
11. Break a leg (vocative case sentence) This is something that actors tell each other when they want to tell them good luck. Historically (in America, anyway), it was considered bad luck to wish an actor good luck on his or her performance. It seemed sure to cause the performance to be bad in some way. So it's kind of reverse psychology. "Break a leg" is an entire sentence.
12. Borrowed time (though some people would like to save time in a barrow) This is a noun phrase. Borrowed time usually goes with the sentence, "He was living on borrowed time." which means that by all rights, in his circumstances, he shouldn't be alive. Someone with a serious disease could be living on borrowed time–not knowing when the disease would kill him. If someone were a fugitive, it would be inevitable that he would be caught and imprisoned or, worse, killed by a mercenary. He would be living on borrowed time.
13. Born with a silver spoon in one's mouth (adjectival phrase) "He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth" means that a person came from a rich family. So rich that they could feed him with a silver spoon from an expensive set of silverware. This doesn't mean a whole lot these days, since one can get a silver baby spoon, get it engraved, etc. as a present for a baby shower.
14. Out of the blue (adverbial phrase answering the question "from where?") "That thought came to me out of the blue!" means I didn't know where it came from. "He just spoke to me out of the blue" means a person came up and talked to me though he was a stranger to me, and I knew not his purpose. The phrase should be completed as "out of the clear, blue sky" meaning that whatever appeared just appeared from nowhere.
15. Skeleton in the closet (noun phrase) this means something to fear. A skeleton, historically, was something that people feared, a portent of death. In this case, it's death to a reputation. Politicians often have "skeletons in their closets" because they often do things that other people don't know, that if they were known, would ruin the politician's reputation. (Not that politicians need help.) Perhaps a person had a secret meeting with another over a very secret subject. If this secret was revealed, it would ruin the reputation of the people involved. These people have a skeleton in their closet.
16. Fall on deaf ears (verb phrase) "My words fell on deaf ears." This means even though I explained something, nobody listened. P

Brass for the gold colour maybe?
Not exactly true. Diamonds are somewhat easy to find… or rather obtained in high volume in some places… but the supply is controlled to maintain optimal pricing. It’s both “supply” and “demand” not just supply.
You could but you'd have to be very lucky to hit anything big. I mean it would also be dangerous in the middle of highland 100km from any real civilisation.
