1st Time Out With Metal Detector, Finds 1mil+ Hoard Of Gold

By Goldfinder

When David Booth bought himself a metal detector, he was looking for a new hobby – and perhaps the occasional old coin. But on his very first outing with the device, he uncovered a £1million hoard of Iron Age jewellery that is Scotland’s most important find in a century. Mr Booth, 35, found four gold necklaces – known as ‘torcs’ – buried just...

  4. It depends on where it was made, the version of the die (or what they use to cut the metal) and the actual coin denomination. Some are worth only a few cents more than their original value, some, if in perfect condition can be worth thousands, especially if they have a rare "double die" design.

There is a large amount of information that goes into the judging of coin worth including luster, cleanness of the die, etc.

To find out more, go to:

You might have to read more about the special grading system to do it yourself. If you really want to know the exact value, I would find a professional appraiser.

    Good luck!

Also, if the coins are made of copper or silver (pennies before the mid 1970s and most silver colored coins before World War II) should be kept away from moisture and excessive oxygen because both silver and copper will oxidize. Silver can be polished but once copper begins to oxidize it is hard to save the image on the coin.

Agree with SBH. I was once worked with Maybank for a while few years ago. They have this scheme called Gold Savings Account, where you purchase the gold and keep it with the bank. You won't receive actual gold as it is kept by the bank, but only an account book like normal savings account which states the weight of gold you own instead of RM. You can sell some of the gold back to the bank based on prevailing bank's purchase price (equivalent to withdrawal in normal savings account).

You may try to ask Maybank if they still offer the gold savings account, I'm not sure. We are not familiar with it because gold savings are never popular among Malaysians.

Because gold has always been accepted as being universally worthy of value. Through history, it has held value as it is scarce and just about everyone wants to own some. It stood behind the currency which meant that people trusted the currency to have value because they could always technically demand gold payment from the government. This is one reason why the USA became so rich in the 19th century … the gold strikes out west (especially the California 1849 strikes) and the strikes in Alaska at the turn of the 19th century.

When a nation goes off the gold standard and says its currency is backed by faith in their government, that makes investors and others who would loan the government credit nervous. There is then not much backing the obligation and if the government falls or has problems, the creditors can lose everything.

It is like a private person or a business seeking credit to fund itself. If a private person or a business needs money and goes to a bank for a loan, then they are much more likely to get it if they have collateral. The bank then feels fairly secure. That is how the government works. As long as there is plenty of gold in reserve to back the financial obligations of the government, there is collateral that is so precious just about anyone would gladly accept the collateral if the loan cannot be paid off. That is the value of gold.

Most common words associated with teens are like – wild, unpredictable, rebellious, etc. As lots of the persons now labelling the teens as such had once themselves behaved similarly when they were themselves teens, so it seems rather a little unfair so they can be complaining when others follow sooth. All this being said, teens are definitely somewhat more complex than people of other age groups.

The answer to your quesiton is therefore, you should be able to get a job, as long as you have the correct qualifications. My friends are Polish for example & both got good jobs in the Banks/local Council. I use them as a case in point.

I went to see a breastfeeding specialist when I was feeding my son as I was sore, he fed for like 10-15mins. There was another lady there with her baby and the breastfeeding specialist said 'babies will feed for between 5 and 45 minutes, anything over an hour means that they are not latched on properly'.
So I would ignore the MIL (mine knows it all too! LOL). Some people have a fast let down, or their babies are just efficient feeders. As long as he is gaining weight (as he is), and having plenty of wet nappies (diapers if your American) then he will be fine.
    Good luck!!

For architecture in Scotland, this has been a mixed week. On Monday a van managed to demolish a 16th-century stone gate at Scone Palace in Perthshire. But there was better news yesterday when the V&A Museum unveiled six impressive potential designs for a new cultural outpost on Dundee’s waterfront, to be opened in 2014. One door gets knocked down, another opens, it seems. The new museum is projected to provide a large boost to the local Dundee economy.

Depends on what car you are talking about. Every computer controlled car has a different voltage input for the oxygen sensor. The sensor sends a voltage signal and tells the computer if the engine timing needs to be adjusted or not. The eliminator sets this to one constant voltage that tells the computer to advance the timing and leave it there. Thus giving your car better performance and acceleration. But you will need to find what that voltage is at WOT for your car. If you have a car with OBDII system (most 1996 to present cars) then you may can get a programmer to bypass these signals and manually set it to what you want.
